The Flax Growing & Natural Hair Oil Project is Streetheroes Uganda's flagship income-generating initiative designed to empower vulnerable youth and support children through sustainable agriculture and value addition.

By growing flax, we are not only creating employment opportunities but also teaching practical skills that enable young people to become self-reliant while generating income to support our community programs.

Revenue generated from this project helps provide school fees, food, hygiene supplies, and other basic needs for vulnerable children under our care.

What We Teach

Products We Produce

Using flax and other natural materials, we produce a variety of eco-friendly products, including:

• Natural Hair Oil – A high-quality natural oil extracted from flax seeds for healthy hair care.
• Door Mats – Durable handmade mats produced from flax fibre.
• Handmade Crafts – Beautiful artisan products created by our youth using locally available materials.
• Ropes – Strong, environmentally friendly ropes made from natural flax fibre.

Our Future Vision

With improved equipment and investment, we aim to expand our production to include:

• Premium Natural Hair Oil
• Linen Fibre for textile production
• Organic beauty and cosmetic products
• Expanded handmade crafts
• More environmentally friendly products for local and international markets

Our Greatest Need

At present, much of our production is carried out manually, limiting the number of products we can produce and the income we can generate.

A modern oil extraction machine would significantly increase our production capacity, improve product quality, create employment for more young people, and enable us to support many more vulnerable children with education and essential needs.
